Relaxing Sunday: Pupung and Friends Has a Restaurant

Pupung had been a popular comic strip section which I used to read before. I just remember his wonderful lolo trying to teach him the values of being a Filipino. This very fascinating comic strip is featured daily on the Entertainment Section of The Manila Bulletin but more than that what is amazing is that there is a fastfood chain that seems to be as old as the comic strip. At first I thought that it was based on the strip but it seems it is the other way around.

“Pupung differs in the sense that concept and ambience depicts the lives of Pupung, his family and friends. It showcases funny incidents in their daily lives that Filipinos can easily relate to,” Owner Dennis Nakpil explains. “As for the food, it is your typical everyday comfort food but prepared and served in a more special way by using better ingredients and raw materials.”

Seems like it's really as describe by an entry in clickthecity.co and I do really told myself when I see the price list that we could have dine there instead of spending it at McDonalds. We could even have the chance to get real food and get relaxed at the ambiance of the store. It is indeed rare that you get to eat and read at the same time.
