Former President Cory Aquino's Final Journey

Hailed as the best ever President of the Philippines, former President Corazon "Tita Cory" Cojuanco-Aquino will be laid to rest, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque. The Requiem mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. then followed by the public funeral from the Manila Cathedral to the Manila Memorial Park.

From the Manila Cathedral, the procession will move to Anda Circle, then to Roxas Boulevard. It will turn left at Quirino Avenue and proceed to Osmeña highway. It will traverse the South Luzon Expressway and will take the Sucat Exit, then it will proceed to the Manila Memorial Park.

The public viewing for the remains of Cory Aquino will be until 4:00 a.m. today to give way to the preparation for the interment.

It is expected that thousands and thousands of people will line-up the streets to give their final salute and respect to the former president.

Former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino's funeral took 8 hours to finish and based on the last account from La Salle Greenhills to Manila Cathedral it took the convoy 5 hours to get there.
