Hip Hop National Interschool Kicks-Off With Its 1st General Assembly
Fresh new batch of vibrant school-based dancers gathered for the first general assembly of the Hip Hop National Interschool, Saturday, August 8, 2009 6:30 PM at the Planet Jupiter Dance Studio in Makati City.
Thirty-one students as well as teachers representing 17 campuses attended the event. Among the represented were University of the Philippines, University of Sto. Tomas, De La Salle University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and other prominent schools.
Nash Anggahan, the Production Manager presided over the orientation. The mechanics of the upcoming dance tilt was discussed including stage rules, performance and musical requirements, and the all too-important criteria for judging. Hermes Gacutan, coordinator for College Level and Nel Estuya, coordinator for High School Level and Marites Bondoc, the Event Director were also present to answer the questions and accomodate the suggestions. Tickets for the event were distributed right after the forum.
The general assembly allowed the participants to meet and get to know each other for the first time, and reunite with fellow dancers and acquaintances from various past and current dance circles.
The Philippine Dance Network would like to thank all these steadfast student dancers who found time to attend and represent their campuses despite hectic class schedules and having to come from campuses way far from the assembly venue. Participants immediately kept coming even after the orientation was over, prompting the organizers to hold another orientation for a second batch of attendees.
"HNN is a event you will never forget with its unique concept and unpredictable twists than you can ever imagine" according to Nash. The highly-anticipated first-ever nationwide hip hop dance competition sets to discover the best, hippest dance crew among the schools and universities of Metro Manila and its neighboring vicinities, in DancePinoy.com's continuing quest to create a dance community which would facilitate camaraderie among its members and elevate the Pinoy dancer's status as world-class talent.
Invitation is still open to all campus-based dance crews to participate in Hip Hop National Inter-school. Step up to the challenge and make your school proud.
Hip Hop National Interschool is organized together with OBRA Incorporated, National Youth Commission, City Government of Taguig, UR 105.9, Max FM 103.5, XFM 92.3, Mellow Touch 94.7, Daily Tribune, Business Mirror, Manila Standard, Inquirer.net, Philstar.net Circuitmag.net and UNTV.
