DOH Website Hacked and Vandalized
The health advisories page of the Philippine's Department of Health (DOH) was hacked and was vandalized with obscene pictures. The main feature was an anti-firecracker campaign which shows a man holding penises instead of "tototot."
A message in the fake DOH page says, "Magsisimula ang pagbabago mismo sa sarili natin. Para sa akin kasama sa corruption ang simpleng kickback sa allowance, tuition na hinihingi sa magulang, ang pag sosobra ng presyo sa mga tinitinda sa kalsada at madami pang maliliit na bagay na sa tingin ng iba ay hindi corruption."
This is eventually a lash out at the perceived widespread corruption in the government including the DOH.
The hacker also said, "Malamang laking pasalamat ni Duque ng mauso ang H1N1, dengue, etc aba'y araw-araw lumalabas ang kanyang commercial!"
This was not the first time that a government website was hacked and was vandalized.
The IT Team at the DOH says they will investigate how the security breach was done and if possible prevent it from happening in the future.
