Terrorism is Testing Barack Obama
US President Barack Obama had accepted that it was a grieve lapse in security and intelligence that made it possible for an attempted Christmas eve bombing in an airplane.
Obama said that United States Intelligence had data of a possible bombing but was not able to connect the dots.
The aborted bombing of terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who allegedly tried to set off an explosive device aboard the plane as it came in for a landing in Detroit, has told investigators that he had training from al-Qaida operatives in Yemen.
With this development Obama had instructed greater security measures in airports and other possible entry point for terrorists. One of the measures which was protested by Cuba is an added security screening for Cuban citizens.
Obama also had reservations for now of the immediate transfer of terror suspects held in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to Yemen following information that al_Qaida seems to have strong operations there.
Obama however bowed to eventually shut down the controversial prison in due time.
