Dream 15 Results and Highligts

Dream 15, the Japanese version of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) concluded today at the Saitama Super Arena, Saitama Japan. The reigning Lightweight champion Shinya Aoki defeated Tatsuya Kawajiri via heel hook submission at 1:53 of round 1.

Dream 15 also features the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix Opening Round where four players are fitted against one another and ten the two winners will face it off at Dream 16. Tatsuya Mizuno of Japan and Gegard Mousasi of Armenia won in their respective matches and will be facing each other on September 2010 for the first Dream Light Heavyweight Championship.

The results for the other Dream 15 matches are as follows:

Middleweight bout: Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Karl Amoussou
Nakamura defeated Amoussou via unanimous decision at 5:00 of round 2

Featherweight bout: Mitsuhiro Ishida vs. Daiki Hata
Ishida defeated Hata via unanimous decision at 5:00 of round 2.

Featherweight bout: Michihiro Omigawa vs. Jong Young Sam[1]
Omigawa defeated Jong via submission (guillotine choke) at 8:45 of round 1.

Lightweight bout: Gesias Cavalcante vs. Katsunori Kikuno
Cavalcante defeated Kikuno via split decision at 5:00 of round 2
