Pacquiao vs Margarito Set in November
Manny Pacquiao Next Fight Update - The next battle for the pound-for-found champion Manny Pacquiao had been finally set. Pacman will be slugging it off with Mexico's Antonio Margarito on November 13 for the vacant super welterweight championship. The fight will either be in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, that is if California will grant Antonio Margarito a license there.
Antonio Margarito is perceived to be a dirty fighter and can be a challenge for Manny Pacquiao. During a fight in California against Shane Mosley he was caught with a hardened substance in his knuckle pad. During the battle with Shane Mosley on Jan. 24, 2009 he was knocked out on the ninth round as was penalized by removing his license.
Bob Arum, handler of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao said that he decided to get Margarito instead of Miguel Cotto in order to have some fresh battle for Pacquiao. Cotto was defeated by Pacquiao in the 12th round.
Margarito already applied for a license in Nevada last July 9 but the Nevada Athletic Commission tabled the matter and told Margarito to return to California. Margarito is now about to file paperworks in California. If that is granted then we will see the battle at MGM otherwise the battle will be held at a 22,000-seat arena in Monterrey, Mexico.
The Manny Pacquioa vs Antonio Margarito bout will be offered on HBO Pay-Per-View.
