Dinner for Schmucks Debuted at Number 2 in Weekend Box Office; Inception Still on Top
The newest movie released this weekend, "Dinner for Schmucks" debuted at number 2 for the Weekend Box Office. The new movie earned a total of $23.3 million. The comedy film was directed by Jay Roach and stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd is a remake of the Francis Veber film The Dinner Game.
Carrell and Rudd previously partnered in other comedy movies like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and The 40 Year-Old Virgin. Dinner for Schmucks unseated previous second place Salt which starred Angelina Jolie. Salt only managed to earn an additional $19.3 million.
The undisputed leader for three weeks now in the Weekend Box Office is Chrisopher Nolan's masterpiece, Inception. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio playing a person who can steal or implant a dream in a person.
Inception earned $27,520,000 this week and brings the total earnings of Inception to $193,348,000.
The biggest earner so far is still Toy Story 3 which is now on its 7th Week at the Weekend Box Office Top Ten with $389,674,000 in total earnings followed by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with $288,200,000 and is on its 5th week.
