Game and Anime Cosplay Reaches SM City Baliwag

BULACAN, PHILIPPINES: Cosplay is starting to be a popular culture in the Philippines. One of the biggest advocate for Cosplay in the Philippines includes SM Supermalls and AXN Asia. The latest Cosplay event which we attended and even have the chance to is the Cyber Geeks Event at SM City Baliwag. The event is sponsored by SM City Baliwag and hosted by Bulacan Cosplay Mania and participated by My Little Prince Shop and Hatah! Hatah!

The event was held at the SM City Baliwag Events Center, August 29. More than 30 Cosplayers attended the event and even participated in the Cosplay Competition. The judges includes two veteran cosplayers and Ms. Shiela Alegre of SM City Baliwag Marketing.

The event was well received from the people of Baliwag and there are also visitors from other places which went to see the event. The Cosplay competition had also been very successful, as four Cosplayers were awarded including the War Machine Cosplay and the character from Plants vs Zombies.

As a writer, I was not very fond of Cosplay although I had been an anime addict or Otaku since age 5. I decided to join and Cosplay as a character from Lineage II. Thanks to Gerald Avendano of My Little Prince Shop for the costume. I also decided to be part of Bulacan Cosplay Mania and gladly they still accept not so young members.
