Michael Douglas Has Cancer
Renowned actor Michael Douglas had been diagnosed to have a throat cancer. Though generally throat cancer does not affect one's ability to act and perform, Douglas is advised to be careful and follow treatment procedures if he does not want to suffer the same fate as Roger Ebert.
He is now undergoing regular chemotherapy and radiation sessions. Representatives of the actor said that the treatment will be for eight weeks and medical experts says that Douglas's prognosis for survival looks decent.
Meanwhile Dr. Warren Line of the Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph in Burbank says that a worst case scenario for Michael Douglas would affect his voice.
"It's generally the soft tissue that could be damaged by the radiation," says Dr. Warren Line. If that is the case then the actor might lose his voice and iconic vocal character.
