Miss Universe 2010 Results and Highlights
The coronation was held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada,Monday, August 23.
"I was surprised Philippines didn't go further. I wasn't surprised by the win," says Donald Trump after pageant. Raj had been the highest rated candidate in the Miss Universe Website having a rating of 3.54 on the coronation night.
Miss Jamaica, Yendi Phillipps placed on top of the Swimsuit competition with 9.426 points, followed by Miss Mexico with 9.265 and Miss Philippines with 8.957. Phillips was also the fourth highest rated candidate online.
The top 15 for this years Miss Universe 2010 where: Puerto Rico, Ukraine, Mexico, Belgium, Ireland, South Africa, France, Australia, Jamaica, Russia, Albania, Colombia, Guatemala, Czech Republic, and the Philippines.
In the end the final rating was based on the answers of the contestants to the questions asked by the judges and on this Miss Mexico outsmarted everyone and made an answer which resounded well with the judges.
Other winners includes Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell for Miss Congeniality Universe award, Miss Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul won Miss Photogenic Universe and a second award for having the best national costume.
There was no award for the highest rated candidate online which for me should have been given the Miss Universe 2010 People's Choice Award and should have been given to Miss Philippines, Venus Raj.
