Eid Mubarak to all Muslims: Eid Ul-Fitr Celebrated Today - The end of Ramadan is being celebrated worldwide today, September 10, 2010. Eid ul-Fitr or Eid is the culmination of the month long fasting by Muslims conducted annually during their holiest month of Ramadan.
Muslims worldwide will still be fasting the whole day today, that is no food and water and then a celebration will be made after sunset. The celebration will be highlighted by a prayer known as Eid-ul-Fitr Salat or Namaz in Urdu/Persian. The prayer is composed of extra six Takbirs (raising of the hands to the ears while saying Allahu Akbar (God is Great), three of them in the beginning of the first raka'ah and three of them just before ruku' in the second raka'ah.
In the Philippines, President Noynoy Aquino declared today as a holiday in recognition to the holy celebration of the Muslims. Eid Mubarak to all Muslims!
