Advocates of RP-RH Abandoned by P-NOY

The Philippine NGO Council on Population, Health and Welfare Inc. (PNGOC), composed of 95 member NGOs is saddened by the pronouncement of the president to exclude the Responsible Parenthood (RP) - Reproductive Health (RH) bill as a priority bill.

With this development, it is apparent that President Aquino’s boss is the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and not the Filipino people. PNGOC believes it is the government’s role to provide a national policy and reproductive health information and services to the masses.

We urge the President to stand firm on his earlier position, fulfill his campaign promise, and include RP-RH bill as a legislative priority.
