Dwight Howard breaks Wilt Chamberlain's NBA record
Dwight Howard of Orlando Magic breaks the 50-year old record of Wilt Chamberlain at the National Basketball Association (NBA). The new record was made in their game against the Golden State Warriors. Howard made a record breaking 39 free throws offsetting Chamberlain's 34. Orlando Magic won the game 117-119
“I knew he was shooting a lot of free throws,” said Al Attles, who now works as an ambassador for the Warriors. “But I didn’t know he had that many.”.
Wilt Chamberlain also holds the record for the most number of points in a game. Chamberlain is the man behind the legendary 100-point game he produced for the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962.
