Warcaft Movie Review and Why it is One of the Best Video Game Movies of All Time?
A few days ago I have a discussion with a friend telling him that I have yet to watch Warcraft and he immediately warned me that it is not a good movie. Defying him today, I watched it and I proved that opinion to be wrong. For me Warcraft is one of the best video game movies of all time and this is why it also became the highest-grossing video game movie ever. The critics are wrong and here's why... Here is my Warcraft movie review on why it is one of the best video game movie of all time.
What story are you looking for?
What is Warcraft all about? In today's video game world gamers and critics seems to have been lost to popular video games related to Warcraft like World of Warcarft (WoW), Defense of the Ancients (DOTA), League of Legends (LoL) and more.
Have you played Warcraft 20 years back? If you do then you will understand what the story is all about. The Warcraft movie brings to the present time the story of where everything started. It is a retelling of the first game Warcraft 1: Orcs and Humans.
Are the critics and gamers of today looking for the Undead or other favorite races like the Night Elves, Death Knights and more? Why would you even expect that or why would you say the film is bad because your favorite race or character is not there?
I think critics had been greatly unfair to the movie. The US box office sales of the movie only accounted for 10% of the total gross of more than US$377.7 million. It defied critics by also becoming the most successful movie from a video game.
Let me give my own WARCRAFT MOVIE REVIEW ...
CHARACTER: 10. I like them all. In this movie Lothar is being introduced and I would say he has many issues right from the beginning. The character was well played by Travis Fimmel. I would really like to commend everyone for bringing in the personality and the emotion of everyone. You can see their distinction from one another and the burden that each of them carries. I also would comment the personality and good character portrayal by Toby Kebbell of Durotan, father of Go'el and orc chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan.
Each character brings to life a memory of my early video gaming days and I would say I am very emotional seeing these characters came into life.
COHERENCE: 10. The development of the story was very good. I would say that you would not miss a single thing in this one. Everything was laid down clearly but despite of that the intrigue, the trickery and the battle outside and within each of the character was very evident.
DEPTH: 9. The story explained the origin of the Horde and where they came from. It also brings into life some key elements which made the story really good. Garona and Lothar's seeming love interest for one another here is very intriguing as well as what she did in the end that perhaps made him regret everything that he did for her.
Garona is a half-human, half-orc survivor who we can see was perhaps the center of the possible peace and victory for the humans which later on turned out to be a different story all along. Khadgar played by Ben Schnetzer also played a major role and was key in resolving the true reason why the Orcs arrived in Azeroth.
Overall I really loved how the story goes deep in this movie. I am not a recognized movie critic but I would rather not be one than fail to see how good the movie is,
MUSIC: 10. I remember why I love Warcraft when I first played it. The soundtrack was great and whenever there is a war your heart will pump fast and you will be engulfed by the game. This movie had that feel and it made you glued to the sceen.
VISUAL EFFECTS: 10. Great visual effects, the realism was splendid. I love the Gryphon as well which is also one of my favorite units in the game. I also love seeing how Khadgar turned one of the human guards into a sheep which reminds me of a Warcraft strategy of turning powerful units into sheeps.... meeeeee.
OVERALL RATING: 94/100
WARCRAFT 2 MOVIE SEQUEL
Yes there is a sequel and it seems Wanda, a China-based production will be producing Warcraft 2. China had contributed US$200 million to the sales of the movie so this is not a surprise. Will it be based on Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness? I hope so... I want to see the story come to life.

POPULARITY: 7. If you base it on all online critics review then they would say this movie is 25/100 which means that it sucks big time. If you believe them then you will be missing the greatest video game movie ever created to date,
RECOMMENDATION: 10. If you have not yet watched Warcraft then please do. It is a great movie and it will introduce you to the reason why people love games relating to it. Treasure every moment, do not put your eyes and ears away from the screen,
