SM City San Jose Del Monte shares the spirit of love and joy
The holiday season might be over but we would like to share this wonderful advocacy of SM San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan. The charity event was done in collaboration with employees, agency personnel and kindhearted shoppers and mall goers.
What is this charity? Well, it's called BEARS OF JOY and the recipient were the Day Care scholars of San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity Incorporated.
With the collaborative efforts from the SM City San Jose del Monte employees, agency personnel, and kindhearted shoppers and mall goers, they were able to bring out the sweet smiles from the Day Care scholars of San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity Incorporated.
ChriSMiles is a yearly volunteerism activity of SM Supermalls that aims to make more people smile especially this holiday season. The event is a nationwide employee’s volunteerism program that brings joy to the chosen beneficiaries of each mall. The initiative started in 2012 that also encourages all SM employees to be more appreciative of their individual blessings by sharing these with the underprivileged sectors of society.
Participation of employees were through cash or donation in kind, as well as their personal time and effort, that is why employees from SM City San Jose del Monte even extended their efforts and did a ‘Bazaar for a Cause’ for the benefit of the said charity.
The children were treated with a breakfast meal, school supplies and coloring materials, and an entertainment number from a famous fast food chain mascot.
Furthermore, the 54 pupils from San Lorenzo Ruiz Charity Inc. were also the beneficiaries of Bears of Joy, another corporate social responsibility program of SM Cares that encourages the idea of gift giving and spread the love this holiday season by purchasing a simple bear from Toy Kingdom worth 200 pesos. One bear is for keep and the other one will be donated to the chosen charity.
The donors and the customers who bought the pair of bear wrote their names on the card attached to the bear that made the donation more personal and heartwarming. They also wrote their messages on the donor’s wall in the mall.
Aside from the kindhearted shoppers, some of the donors are the Enzored Inc., Eqube Events Mngt., Elemento 1412 Inc., Synergy Graphics, LF Fireworks, JobClean Janitorial Agency, Cleanermen Inc., and the very generous security guards of SM City San Jose del Monte.
These programs were made possible through the efforts of SM’s very dedicated employees, and noted that it will continue every year as a tradition of giving to the communities it serves.

A great sharing for SM Employees and Mall Goers
