Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Movie Review
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker seems to receive mix review and most of them are not good. According to Google, the film was rated 3.6 by 20,516 users. Rotten Tomatoes give it 57% from 368 reviews, while imdb reviewers give it 7/10 rating based on 107,051 reviews. Was it really that bad? Let me add my own review of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker.
Similarities as to the humble beginnings of Rey and how she rises up to eventually become one of the greatest and only existing Jedi in the galaxy. This is so similar to Luke's story.
Looking at it in a very cynical way will indeed give you such an impression, it was once again a time when there was a few to no Jedi at all and the enemy was again Palpatine. However, this is a continuation of the story and most hero stories are done the way it should be. Things do repeat itself and it the real world it does happen.
I am not disappointed with the storyline but I am not also overly impressed with how things turn out to be. The emergence of Palpatine was a big shock and questionable with the film not giving enough explanation as to what really happened.
The plot and the flow of the story were good. It brings you into the edge of your sits. The fight scene and the cinematics was superb. You never knew what will happen and even what will eventually be the decision of Rey whether she will turn to the dark side or not.
I would not say I am totally impressed with the movie, however, it is a big injustice if I would say the movie is crap. I am giving it a rating of 4.0/5.0

A Rehash of the Original Trilogy?
The majority of those who gave negative reviews notes that this movie feels like the rehash of the original trilogy was the Empire begins to once again pose a threat to the Galaxy. A Jedi rises up in the name of Luke Skywalker and then Leia Organa and this time Rey and Ben. The two join forces to defeat the Empire headed by Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader.Similarities as to the humble beginnings of Rey and how she rises up to eventually become one of the greatest and only existing Jedi in the galaxy. Was Star Wars the Rise of Skywalker Good?
It was a good film, in fact, it is a very good one. I am highly recommending people to watch it. It offers the conclusion of the long story of Star Wars for 42 years. This film was the same age as mine and it brings nostalgia.I am not disappointed with the storyline but I am not also overly impressed with how things turn out to be. Review and Comments on Star Wars the Rise of Skywalker
This portion might have some spoiler ahead so if you have not watched the film yet please stop reading. I am trying to minimize spoilers as much as I can.- The appearance of old faces. The film has cameos from the original characters of Star Wars.and this is good, however, some of them seem to be done as a tribute. Leia, Hans Solo, and Lando Calrissian was an acceptable appearance. My big amazement was the role of Luke in the film. I was in disbelief when he appeared and helped Rey. How is that even possible?
- Palpatine as the Villain. The resurrection of Palpatine is fine but offering very little explanation as to how he did it brings a question to why he is chosen. Why not bring back the strongest foe like Darth Plagueis, whose return can be explained by his very own power and potency with the force. It can even be a thrilling and fitting end to the franchise in finally introducing this back story. Or Palpatine can be alive but because Plagueis, resurrected him.
- The question about Finn. I am still puzzled if Finn is indeed forced sensitive. He possesses some characteristics that make him such, he also wielded the lightsaber. What if Rey and Ben eventually decided to become the Sith leaders and then Finn became the hero, in the end, defeating them with the help of the Resistance and Rey turning to the force once again near the end. It could be one hell of an ending.
I would not say I am totally impressed with the movie, however, it is a big injustice if I would say the movie is crap. I am giving it a rating of 4.0/5.0
